Dear Members,
The Chapter’s program started with Dr Jan Cooper’s work-in-progress presentation in March (see report p.4). Our next event is the Regional Forum on 9 May at Mittagong RSL on the theme of The Great War (and the aftermath) On The Home Front (see details pp 2-3). We hope to see you there to participate in the discussion of this important part of our history.
We will be holding our annual seminar, with the State Library of NSW on Saturday 11 July on the theme of Public Discourse, Censorship and Free Speech: What Price Democracy?with an excellent line up of speakers, including Dr Meredith Burgmann, Prof Lucy Taksa, Prof Gillian Triggs and curator Peter Doyle. Details for this event will appear in the June 2015 Bulletin.
The Chapter Committee is preparing for the Annual General Meeting on 14 May (see details p.4). If you are interested in standing for election to the Committee to help us run ISAA in NSW then please get in touch with me (cjennett@ozemailcom.au). While nominations have closed we still have some vacant positions.
Since the last Bulletin the Chapter has been joined by Dr Ken Stone, of Stroud, NSW. Ken is a retired lecturer of creative arts. His interests are: drama, Visual arts, art history, Australian history, Georgian and Victorian Society and design. The Chapter is always eager to welcome new members.
