The National Council of ISAA resolved to write to the Federal Minister for Education, Dan Tehen, expressing its concern at the rise in fees for humanities courses, which will more than double and put them alongside law and commerce in the highest price band of $14,500 a year, as a result of the Government’s ‘carrot-and-stick approach to funnel students into the industries it believes will drive job growth’. ISAA is particularly concerned at the impact this will have on women wishing to enrol in the humanities.
