Libraries: conduits of culture, learning and connection
Join us for the Annual Evening Lecture to be presented by Kristin Twomey who is on a mission to dispel the archaic view of libraries as 20th-century book depositories rather than as conduits of culture, learning and social connection. She focus on the role libraries play assisting individuals to gather, explore, interact, and imagine, building communities and supporting local culture.
Kristin is the 2017 winner of the Jean Arnot Memorial Fellowship and is an eighteen-year veteran of public libraries. She is currently Library Coordinator for Snowy Valleys Council.
Richard Neville, Mitchell Librarian and Director Education and Scholarship at the State Library of NSW will respond to Kristin’s presentation.
Cost: ISAA Members $15 General Public $20
